Great people, great wines…

On August 15th it was time again for the anual wineparty at the winery Alois Kirchen in Oberemmel – and this for the 22nd time!

We were part of the party for the fifth time and sold our fingerfood as well as a variety of finefood products. It’s always fascinating how relaxed and without any stress the event is being organized and how enthusiastic the staff is! We always receive such a warm welcome that by now we feel a little like part of the “Kirchen-family”!

Unfortunately, this year the weather wasn’t as good a team player as in the past years – little rain showers throughout the day even though the temperature was quite nice. But the rain did keep a lot of people from coming, the attendance was noticeably lower than in the past. However, this did not damp anybody’s spirits since there was delicious food, great live music and really great wines to be tasted!

The new vintage is really well-done and we had a great time tasting the wines! Our personal favourites are the 2014 Rotling – very fruity – and the 2014 Spätlese feinherb – very balanced ratio of acidity and residual sugar -, which are from now on available in our shop “GenussSchmiede”. Both wines go down very well and we think they have been put into much too small bottles! 🙂
